The year 2024 is here, which means CPA Evolution 2024 is now in action with its Core-Plus-Discipline model. Under this revised model, applicants must pass three core parts and one discipline section to achieve the CPA title. Thus, it is crucial to be aware of the impact and different ways to successfully navigate the changes. This will not only help you stay abreast during your preparations but also in finding the best CPA tutor.

If you are New to the CPA Exam

If you are new to the CPA exam and planning your career as a CPA, you have to start around CPA Evolution 2024. Thus, it is essential to understand the ins and outs. The CPA exam pattern has transitioned to the CPA Evolution 2024; the new pattern is totally different from the past one and more aligned with the present business landscape and the skills and knowledge that CPAs need to succeed.

So, you must plan your study in the direction of the new exam format and find a CPA tutor who can provide the best help. You can seek sessions from Andrew Katz Tutoring for CPA exam preparation, where you will get up-to-date study plans and assistance to pass the exam.

If you are an Old Candidate of the CPA Exam

If you have attempted the CPA exam in the past and had been preparing for the old format, you will have to switch to the new exam format. But don’t worry! Your efforts won’t be in vain.

If you have already cleared/passed one or more exam sections in 2022 or 2023 but not all four sections, as previously required, the exam transition policy will let you continue your journey to be a CPA from where you are.

Understanding the Transition Policy

  • If you have credit for AUD, FAR, or REG from past exams with validity, you are not required to take the corresponding new core section of AUD, FAR, or REG on the 2024 CPA Exam.
  • Candidates having credit for BEC on the current CPA Exam will not need to take any of the three discipline sections introduced in the CPA Evolution 2024.
  • As of December 19, 2023, all jurisdictions have authorized and implemented a Credit Extension policy, which says that any CPA candidate with unexpired Uniform CPA Examination credits on January 1, 2024, will be granted an extension until June 30, 2025.
  • Instead of the typical 18-month term, your timeline resets, offering you 18 months beginning January 1, 2024. For example, if you passed your first section on July 20, 2022, the 18-month credit that was due to expire on January 20, 2024, is immediately extended to June 30, 2025.
  • However, this extension does not apply if you passed the first section prior to June 30, 2022 (for example, passing on June 20, 2022, implies the credit expired on December 20, 2023, with no extension).
